Are there any previous or current students who got their MFT from San Diego State, San Francisco State or Sonoma State University? I'm interested to hear what your experiences were like and the quality of these programs.

I'm doing the application for SDSU, where they ask "why I am attracted to their program versus others?" and I honestly don't know much about the program, except that its locality is a preference of mine.

Thanks for your feedback (in advanced!)

Hi there,

I'm a 2nd year at SFSU's masters in clinical psychology program, which is one of two MFT tracks at SFSU (the other is a masters in counseling, part of the Education/Counseling department). http://bss.sfsu.edu/clinicalpsych/Default.htm

It is clinically intensive (no research) with a strong leaning towards psychodynamic theory and interpersonal therapy. You begin your clinical work during your first semester, which is rare for an MFT program. I have personally found it to be a high quality and very rewarding experience.

I'll be glad to answer any other questions for you or anyone else who is interested. Please feel free to PM me.

Hi Ashelia,
Your feedbacks are really very helpful. I really appreciate it. There are two question which is bothering me.

1. What are the income sources while studying in SFSU MS in clinical Psychology. How much one can earn while in the course approximately in a month.

2. Are there any scholorship or something like that which i can apply to and get waivers? If yes can you please guide me to that.

I will really appreciate your experience and pointers.

So, the SFSU program is full-time only? Can't do it at night as a working adult?
