Hi,
I'm a little nervous about applying to Dental School. My friends who got in at penn the past 2 years tell me I should be fine...just wanted to get more opinions.
Upenn, biology and economics
S GPA: 3.49
T GPA: 3.60
DAT: AA:24
TS:25
Bio:26
Chem:27
Orgo:23
PAT:24

Applying: Penn, Columbia, Harvard, UCLA, UCSF, Michigan, USC

Just submitted application last week. Still being processed.

What you guys think? I think I'm in the competitive range...

are you kidding, dude? YES you are competetive; those DAT scores are phenomenal.

Highest I've seen so far. Have you submitted your aadsas yet?

orgo is a bit low, id consider retaking

You can not be serious asking that question.... Some people make me mad😡

Mr. UPenn,

You know what would tell you what's competitive? ...The percentile next to your scores. The series of 99.x's tell you what you need to know. There's no need to provoke others anywhere.

Regards,

Mr. Brown

PS - People routinely post high scores to mock and provoke others. It happened too commonly last year. Usually from new accounts.

I actually think high scores help people keep high standards.

what kind of materials did you use to study for your DAT's!!!??

amen to that. this person needs ppl to tell him that he is good? if you get an A, do you ask people if you did well in the class? enjoy your ego trip.

i think you will get in where you want to go. harvard is a great school and they aren't necessarily looking for the highest score in the world. they are looking for a renaissance person. somone that is very well rounded. you may be that person i don't know.

good job on those dat scores. just to be safe apply to some middle of the road schools, but i think you could get into some really good schools.

Nope no chance at all. I think you should take a year and do a masters program to raise your GPA, then study your butt off for like 4 months to get that DAT up. SERIOUSLY?!

gezz, schools will be competing to get you to attend their school, good job!

lol, thanks for those who gave positive results. I am a little bit nervous, because my friends who got into dental schools had like 1-2 points less on the DAT, but had close to 3.65 as GPA.

Oh yeah, I forgot, RC: 24 QR:19. A little bit bugged by that 19, last section...too tired to focus.

As far as studying, I used Kaplan's DAT book, ace the DAT, DAT achiever, top score, and schaumm's guide for bio. Key to success is: PRACTICE TESTS

I did about 2-4 points higher on the real test compared to DAT achiever. Don't let practice tests discourage you. I think Kaplan tests get the closest to the real difficulty.

My aadsas appl is still being process...sad and my school (penn) does not process LOE until august 1st, so freaking gay...another school policy.

uhh. I know you mean penn undergrad, but doesn't it make sense for penn's grad schools to do that too if that is the case? when does upenn dental send out their first interview invitations?

i think you shouldn't bother applying to UCSF or LA.....
