Feedback on St. Luke's at Pa??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
can't help you. I got offered an interview but didn't attend. I heard anecdotally that there are a few of the EM attendings there that aren't part of the residency, and they will not staff the patients with the residents. Not sure if its still like this, or if it was true in the first place. Try scutwork or contacting any of the current residents there.

Q, DO

One of my first interviews. Here's what I have...

Pros: PD is awesome, Lots of procedures, EM is the big man on campus, Great salary, they push reading, group retreats sound like fun. Supposedly scut-free.

Cons: Residents seem like they wouldn't be happy without Dr. Heller and the big money. Openly admitted that "Bethlehem sucks, man". Shirt and tie mandatory for day shifts. Only 3.5 months of ED in PGY1. No electronic charting.

The kicker for me was that the patient list is on some bigscreen TV with a refresh rate of approximately 4hz. The damned thing gave me a headache in the 10 seconds I looked at it. Glad I'm not an epileptic... :scared:
