Hey folks. Anyone familiar with the Missouri schools?

I interviewed at SLU and WashU in October. SLU waitlisted me within 2 weeks. No word from WashU. I've got good stats (4.0, 37R). I'm non-trad in a good profession (sci teacher) with a M.S. in chemistry, and my WashU interviewer even made a point to let me know that I had strong LORs.

What gives? Is this a hopeless situation? BTW, these are the only schools I applied to. Yeah, yeah, I know... But considering my personal circumstances, I'm not even going to consider any others. So what do you think? Should I entertain hope of hearing from WashU at all (waitlist or accepted)? Should I even hope that SLU will take me off of their applicant pool?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Did you only apply to the two schools in St. Louis? If so, that might be the problem. SLU should be drooling over you though, and Wash U, being the number-oriented school that they are, would probaby give you the thumbs up soon

Make sure they know that you'll go there if accepted. You have really good stats and background from what I can tell. I wouldn't worry too much though. You'll get in. 🙂

don't lose hope, you sound like a great candidate! why don't you send of the schools a letter of intent? your expressed interest in their school might make them speed up their decision-making process 🙂

good luck!

Thanks for the 😍

I actually have already sent my letter of intent to WashU. I didn't think it was ethical to send one to both. But I have sent both schools an update letter. And yes - I've only applied to 2 medical schools. While I think that this may be a BIG reason that I haven't been accepted to medical school yet, I'm not willing to compromise on it. Some things in life are more important than a career - especially when it comes to family.

I'll try to keep my chin up. Thanks.
