No, I'm not talking about MD/PhD. I am talking about taking the GRE for applying to graduate school in case you couldn't get into medical school. If so, do you take the GRE and MCAT both in your junior year? If not, what's your backup plan if you can't get into medical school.

Preparing for the MCAT is a LOT of work. If medical school is what you really want, then make it your number one priority! Solely focus on the MCAT, and no other exams. You'll have plenty of time to figure things out after getting your MCAT results.

no, worse comes to worse take a SMP where you only need an average MCAT score.

Some graduate schools also (I'm talking about regular Master's programs here) will accept the MCAT instead of the GRE. I used my MCAT scores to get into the public health program I'm in now.
