talked to mark urosev today. he cheered me up big time. he said keep calling back and if anyone has a chance its the 1st quartile people.

Imtiaz,

I spoke with Mark Urosev today he said that they will be starting to hand out acceptances to the 1st quartile in the next few weeks. The 1st quartile is 40 applicants.

He said that they are "close" to being full. What ever that means, BUT (big 'ol but) at this time the past two years they were about 50 students over.
He said if your friend is in the first quartile then he has a very good chance.
It's lookin' better bud. damn, it's hard to type with my fingers crossed :wink:

i really wish you guys the best! i'm now an M3 here at U of I in Chicago. if you guys need tips or advice once you get in or have q's now, PM me anytime with an email address. pimplepopperMD, whoever that M4-to-be is, has given you the most truthful comments about the school. don't believe all the hype, good or bad, from the others.

i was accepted off the waitlist this week but declined so thats one out of 40 off their list

i called mark urosev yesterday, i basicaly was like "look, ive got amcas 2003 ready to go, knowing what you know do you advise me to submit?" he then asked me "if offered an acceptance to UIC, would you matriculate?" which was a stupid question. i then proceeded to say "hell motha****ing yes!!!!!" [not really] but then he said "i would hold off for 2 weeks or so, call back next week and ill let you know." so it looks good people!!! got my fingers x'ed.

i think they only pull people off the list on fridays. cause vdawg got off friday, and ludey got a call friday as well. so if i hear anything it will be this friday.

im just bumping to find out if theres any more people who heard shorrin, you will be the first to know if i get in :wink: don't worry about a thing and i am trying to get in real hard, i promise!!

did anybody call today? i did. i got the same response from mark. i mentioned that i called last week and that i was the guy who had amcas 2003 ready to go and he put me on hold, then came back and said "i would wait one more week" i think (i hope) that he was checking my exact position on the list and it was favorable so he told me to wait. dude, this really is nerve wracking.

UIC is still interviewing. They do not have their s**t together.

from what i understood, UIC interviewed the last group of applicants in like early april. they said they were going to have one more interview session after that. i guess they lied?! they already have a waitlist why would they still interview? it doesn't make any sense. i'm gonna ask about this.
