Is there a psych fellow for ER residents?
No.

Nobody else answered, so I figured I might as well. Why would they bother with one? Who would sign up? What you need to know about psych in the ER is pretty limited, and can be taught in far less time than a fellowship requires.

I thought maybe he meant a psych fellow assigned to take care of us.

There are a lot of psycho fellows at my residency. I see I few of them every night. They have bogus complaints, are homeless and get violent when you ask them to leave the emergency department.

EM Psych Fellow: Do you hear voices?

EM Resident: Yes, all night long. They say, "Trauma alert, Bravo Team, Trauma alert, Bravo Team..."

i know a psychic chick who adores ER residents!

That would be cool.

EM resident: "So what brings you to the ER this evening?"

Pt: "I am Jesus and I'm here to kill all sinners with knives and poison. Can I get something to eat?"

EM resident: "Right. Hold on a second while I call the psych fellow."
