What are the stipulations on MSTP students getting additional fellowships? I'm particularly interested in stuff from the DoD (example), but these state things like "A fellow may not accept simultaneous remuneration from another major fellowship. Fellows must be eligible to accept both the tuition benefit and the full stipend amount." How does this play out with NIH's MSTP money?

Thanks!

I have a DoD fellowship.

Simultaneous renumeration just means you have another individual grant (F30/F31, etc.). When I got my DoD fellowship, my funding under the MSTP/school grant dropped.

I wasn't aware MD/PhD students were eligible for these. Can MD/PhDs apply in any DoD graduate fellowship area for funding or is it specific ones? Is GRE required for MD/PhD students as well? Any other interesting things MD/PhD applicants should know about?

Whoops, I have a DoD fellowship from the CDMRP, which is separate from the example the OP provides.

Graduate fellowships are available only for the PhD years, and only for certain programs: breast cancer and prostate cancer last time I checked.
