1. No. You'll have to do a residency here, first
2. Get a residency, apply to fellowships here while in residency
3. research, step 3 scores, great letters of reccomendations while in residency here

Quick question buddy: Are you being paid to promote Uworld on here?

I have UworldCCS and I am doing pretty good on it. In addition, all the cases I have done on Primum have all ended early. That said, I cant shake the feeling that I am missing something. If you were in my shoes, would you give Archer a try?

that mean after i get residency in germany and end it then go to USA to have USMLE then (if i get same residency ) i can get chance make fellowship.... i think its long way ...may i tell u what i wanna do then pls tell me shortest pathway to do it
first i wanna have residency in GERMANY coz thats easyer to get any residency(cardiology and orthop.) than in USA but no money then go to USA to make some money and get some certificate (i wanna avoid USMLE coz it need effort )

may i ask u

HAHA!

This is, without doubt, the most bizarre comment I've read here. What gives you the impression that he may be employed by UWorld?!

Lol - you need the USMLE irrespective of what you want to do.

Furthermore, I'm also an International Med Student and I enquired about this extensively while in the US on electives. The days of simply going to the US as a specialist are over. As mentioned in the post above, you need to do a Residency first (Internal Med if you want Cards; Ortho Res if you want to do that) in order to become Board Certified. Your Fellowship comes after your Residency. Would still take approx 6 years for Cardiology (3 IM Residency, followed by a 3 year Fellowship).

To put it simply, you'd need to go the long route and there's no short-cut or quick fix.

Strange location for this question (probably intended as a pm). I also promote First Aid, Step Up, Kaplan, and Onlinemeded .org for Step 2. I promote what works. Now, if you know somebody I could talk to about reimbursement...

For Anesthesia, Radiology and Orthopedics if you manage to get 3 years of fellowships in US after residency in Germany, you will be eligible to be board certified. But you need to finish all USMLE before applying to fellowships. Some seniors from my medical school are doing direct fellowships in US after residency in India. One of my senior is orthopedic surgeon in US who had finished his residency in India.

there are a lot of fellowships in united states that take international fellows who have completed the residency in other countries and are either finishing or already practicing.

it gets rarer every year but its not that black and white. radiology programs around michigan for example do this a lot, and then when the fellows sit for their radiology fellowship boards, they somehow get their radiology boards at the same time.
