How much flexibility does one have in scheduling interviews? From what I understand scheduling interviews occurs sept-oct? Do they give you many dates to choose from and is it strictly sept & oct?

As with residency programs, every one will be different. We did 6 dates in Sept and Oct, 6-8 interviewees each time for a total of 40 people (3 spots). Larger programs will likely have more days and/or more people each day, smaller programs may just do 1 or 2 days.

And since the ROL deadline is mid-November, yes, it's pretty much Sept/Oct.

You ignored the first sentence I wrote. Read it again.

As someone who coincidentally interviewed at ohsu, i was given my pick of those six days. I was also able to pick between 4-6 interview dates for all my programs (ranging from 3 to 8 spots available)

My earliest offered interview date was aug 24th, latest was nov 4th i think.

Usually you get a list of dates to choose from, but definitely not as many choices as IM residency. However, towards the end of the season (like late Sept/Oct), spaces open up when people cancel and programs may give you a specific date. If you can't make that date, it will go to somebody else.

There were a few programs that gave tons of dates to choose from. CCF, THI gave me one date each and some gave a choice of 2 dates. So it will vary by the program in how selective they want to be or depends on how much hassle the PC wants to handle 🙂
