How diverse are the schedules for cards fellowship btw programs and as the yrs progress? Is it as diverse as IM programs?? I know for instance residency programs have very varying degrees of difficulty and some programs are intern heavy vs senior heavy, etc. Is cards fellowship this way or is it more consistent in business/difficulty?

Some programs are very front loaded - ie 1st year fellows take all calls and do most of the CCU months. They consider themselves a 24 month fellowship. You have your 3rd year to finish up some required months to get level 2 training in whatever you want, then you can fast track into interventional, EP, etc.

Some programs divide call more evenly between the first 2 years. Some programs you still take a decent amount of call into your 3rd year. i'd say overall though, most of the places I looked at try to be front loaded and then leave the last year open for more elective time.
