I have been curious about fellowship training for quite some time now.
I have been hearing that fellowships are becoming increasingly more competitive paralleling interest in PM&R in general. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get any real answers to what exactely "more competitive" means.
I was wondering if anyone could quantify how difficult it is to get into a fellowship, and describe the parameters that programs look at when choosing fellows as well as comment on fellowship training in general (i.e. necessity of research, elective rotations, in-demand programs and/or subspecialties).
Thanks.
