Hi there. Does anyone know of a website where I may access information regarding all Ob/Gyn fellowships, including the Family Planning/Contraception fellowship and all those smaller 1-2 year surgery ones? I have looked on ACOG as well as APGO to no avail. Other than searching by program (which is soooo overwhelming, I don't know where else to search.) I am just now applying for Ob/Gyn residency, but I like to be on top of things....Thanks. 🙂

thanks kem! 😀

i was also wondering if these family planning fellowships are competitive, and would it make a difference where i completed my training? 🙂

im seriously not trying to be a troll, but why on earth would family planning require a fellowship?

It's actually a really cool fellowship, at a lot of places you can get your MPH at the same time, and you can do research around the world about family planning issues.

I'm doing an away rotation at one of the schools with a family planning fellowship, and I talked to one of the attendings. She said it is very variable on the year how competitive it is...some years there are a bunch of applicants, other years there aren't many. She also said it isn't necessary to go to any particular program for residency if you are interested in this fellowship, but for most fellowships (including ones like gyn-onc and REI) it is helpful if you go to a university program.

🙂 kem

so its sort of a public policy fellowship?

it does have components of public policy. but it also gives you some added surgical training. you should check out the website kem posted earlier to give you a better idea.

hey kem, would you be willing to pm me your experience with this family planning rotation? we just got an attending a few months ago who is fresh out of the fellowship. i'm becoming increasingly interested in this option.
