Does anyone know how a fellowship is different from a residency??

Residencies occur immediately after Medical school. These are for your particularly specialy such as Internal Medicine. A fellowship comes after the initial residency and provides training for subspecialties within a particular specialy such as Gastroenterology or Hematology which is within Internal Medicine.
