Ferris State--Optometry

Hey! Is there anyone studying at Ferris State or who has gotten an acceptance there? Would you like to share your stats? I really want to go there in 2009 so that my husband and I can live together...

Hey, I didn't send in my application because I got accepted to my first choice before I sent it in, but I was interested too. One of the ODs that used to work at my office went there, and he told me a story... he grew up in Michigan and he said on the morning of his interview, his car wouldn't start because it was -20 degrees outside 🙁 That's something I could not deal with! What are your stats like?

I visited MCO last year and spoke with one of their doctors about admissions stuff. I have a 3.45 and have worked in an optometry office for about 2 years and he told me I really shouldn't have a problem getting in, as long as my OAT scores are decent. I'm actually applying there this fall too.

At one point, FSU was my top choice, but it slowly went to the bottom of my list. I have around a 3.5 gpa with a 350 or 360 OAT score (lol, i dont remember my score), and it seemed like they didn't really want me to apply or choose FSU. I believe that they try to look for students that are from the state of Michigan even though they don't clearly say it. I had applied to FSU and there was absolutely no response from them, no acceptance, rejection or even in process. It might just be my case, but I hope you get better luck with FSU since you seem to be set on there, DryEye. Also, if you don't know already, they have one of the smallest class sizes, but I think that balances out with the smaller number of people that apply.

I applied there for fall 09 as well. The most I've heard from them is a email saying they had all of my application materials.
