so what fever limit does everyone use as criteria for parents to bring kids to the hospital?
< 6 months
6 m - 12 m.
1 year - 3 years
4years and older

A fever is defined as 100.4 no matter the age. Besides the really little ones (<2 mo), the fever itself is not the determining factor to bring the kid to the hospital, it's the other signs and symptoms - consolable, hydration status, rashes, to name just a few, that determine how sick the kid is.

it's so basic, but i wanted to double check this as well: so if i see 100.4 or more, it's "fever". how 'bout the term "low grade fever"...is there a number for this, or people just like throwing it around?
