According to me, smoke also cause distress syndrome,but ans to this ques is choice 4-cigrette smoking...

can somebdy also explain me the reason to this ans and I m even confused about choice 5, can sombdy please explain?? i understand chocies 1,2,3.

i rem these questions given in the q bank

both the answers are correct

in the first one... one thing u didnt write is.... it is ACUTE resp distress synd... and not chronic.... smokin cause chronic....all the other choices cause acute distress.... we never give 100% oxygen as it releases nascent oxygen and free radicals which are toxic..... so the answer is correct


next question... u can check in any book.... in emphysema... the tlc increases..... since in emphsema... the parenchyma is destroyed.... providing more space for air... so increasing the total lung capacity.
