Has anyone who applied to FGCU heard anything? I haven't even got an email saying they received my application so I just wanted to make sure that was normal!

I talked to the front receptionist, MeLinda, today. She said they will be waiting 2 more weeks for all/most applications to be processed by PTCAS and sent to them before they start reviewing.

Thank you! I think they were the only school that hadn't at least emailed me to say they received my application so I was getting nervous. If you don't mind me asking, are you from Florida?

I think they lean towards reviewing all applications at one time as opposed to reading them as they trickle in. With the amount of apps that they have already, it would be a painstaking and time-consuming process taking the latter route.

And I am from Florida.

I had an email that said to wait for an acceptance letter but I deferred my spot for someone else. That was yesterday

Yeah they sent out an email on Tuesday basically accepting who I imagine to be their top 30. The email just said it was a heads up that you will be receiving an acceptance letter soon as long as you reply you are still interested. Some people probably have moved on to other schools by now so they will probably just be working their way down the list of applicants.

I received an email on Friday stating that they reviewed my application and that I meet the admission requirements for the DPT program at FGCU, but that admission offers would be sent out to their top 30. If offered admission, should I be expecting another email explicitly stating that I've been accepted? Thanks!

Yeah I initially received that email too, they are just letting you know you met the minimums and will be considered an applicant. The departments organization isn't too impressive, but they will definitely give you an email stating you are accepted if they want you. Us that were accepted had to let them know by February 25th, so after tomorrow I imagine they will start going down their list to start offering admission to other students depending on how many responses they get from the top 30, I wouldn't expect to hear anything in the next week though.

I think FGCU takes more interest in your upper division GPA than other schools
