Filipino is classified as Asian based on US Census data

I think pacific islander is more Hawaiian and other Oceania countries (like Guam/Samoa)

I would consider it Asian. Being Filipino myself I've had discussions about this. The idea that Filipinos are Pacific Islander seems like it's not a popular thing, and it's more accepted that Filipinos are categorized as Asians. I work for a lab, and we categorize Filipinos are Asians.

It's a common misconception that Filipinos are Pacific Islander. Unfortunately it doesn't play out that way and you should select Asian.

There are a few specific schools that do identify Filipinos as being an underrepresented population in their application process however.
