Hey everyone!

So I'm applying this cycle, and I decided to take a lighter courseload because I'm near the max amount of credits I can take before I start getting charged extra (plus I only needed 2-3 more classes for my major). I'm only taking 12 credits this semester, so naturally I have a bit more free time than when I was taking 15-17.

Does it look bad if I didn't take up anything else to fill my extra free time during the week? The 12 credits of classes I've taken is still pretty rough, and I've enjoyed my extra free time to do things I was too busy to do when I was taking on heavier loads the past 2-3 years. However, I am a little concerned that my schedule will look "lighter" than it should've been.

Apologies for what's probably a typical neurotic pre-med overreaction.

Are you comfortable answering the question, "What have you been doing since the summer?" in an interview? If you have to say that you're taking a light course load and chillin until you get accepted, then you're right, that would look not. Are you done volunteering etc. now that applications have been submitted?

No, I'm still doing all the volunteering, TAing, etc that I was doing in earlier semesters. Definitely didn't halt everything.

I only took 12 credits one semester and no questions were asked about it. It was filled with tough classes and I spent the time studying.
