After reading all of these threads, freaking out over the MCAT scores and checking anxiously to see if they were released, I got to thinking about what happens after the MCAT scores. I have a feeling that, with the exception of cases in which one far exceeds or falls below one's expectations, the day on which we receive our MCAT scores will be somewhat anti-climactic. What next? What will fill the void left by the ulcer-inducing nail-biting anxiety in the pit of our stomachs? Will it be the AMCAS? Secondaries? Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream? 😀 What do you guys think?

VOID! Why would you say 'void'? :scared: Should I have voided my score???? 😱 AAArrrggghhh!!!
Just kidding. I'll probably start running again, working out, sleeping, eating, etc......

LOL! Actually, that reminds me of something that happened on test day. Right after the exam, the proctors asked outloud (in front of the whole room) who wanted to void their exam... and we all stared around at each other seeing who would get up, and of course, no one did! I couldn't believe that they'd just announce it and make people walk all the way up to the front of the room like that...anyway, that's my random aside!

LOL same thing happened at my center but sure enough one poor soul walked up proudly to the proctor, took care of business and left the room while the remaining 300+ sat and just watched. must have been hell!!! after my scores are revealed ill prob get back to the normal things in life ive found very hard to do like eating and sleeping 🙄

Yup, back to normal, for me, that means studying for the MCAT again. 🙄

Yeah, I expect most of us to get within the range we expect.

My problem is I really don't know what range to expect. I've even got *a lot* of data to extrapolate from. I've got two previous administrations, three TPR practice tests, and two AAMC practice tests. From there you'd think I'd be able to nail my prediction. I wouldn't put money on it unless someone gave me a 5 point range to work with and even then I'd worry about scoring just outside my prediction.

Anyone else in this boat?

yea, but for me its just failure of memory: one week after the test, i would have bet my prediction to be +/- 1 point......now i'd say my best guess would be about +/- 4-5. i just don't remember how i felt about it (other than bad, of course).

UNTlabrat, I just wanted to point out that you are too a dancing flower.

nope. Guess again. Believe me, if you knew me, "a dancing flower" would not come to mind. Maybe some sort of creeping ivy, but no flowers. :luck:

For real. Drawing from my practice test and impressions of the actual test, I had given myself a score (+/- 2 points) that I thought would be pretty accurate..... but now... now I'm starting to feel like my prediction should just be x - 5 points. Stupid test.

Nothing like letter your self worth ride on a single exam score...

I hear you on that one! Walking out of the exam, I felt so apathetic and drained, and not just because it was a 9 hour long experience, but also because I didn't really know what to think. To be honest, I feel as though the PS section put a damper on everything for me, and really threw me off - I didn't know if things went well or poorly, I had no gauge - whereas with Kaplan's exams, towards the end I had a pretty good sense of whether it was a good day or a bad day for me. Ah well, I guess we'll find out in less than a week...for better, or for worse!

bumping it up, to reminisce over the insanity that once filled this presently calm and quiet forum 🙂 (and which will fill it again as August draws near)

What's really weird is that the time you posted that last message matches up with the original date you posted it.

...Am studying for round #2

And applying to med school.

Best of both worlds...🙂

Woah...I didn't even notice that. That's pretty freaky, actually. 😱

Good luck with the studying, and I'm sure you'll kick some serious MCAT butt 🙂
