I was hoping that you could give me your thoughts on my plans for final 2 weeks. I'm currently rereading FA alongside pathoma. I was thinking of not doing any more Uworld questions (im at 80% done) and just taking a NBME every 4th day (so far I've only taken NBME 13 and that was 2 weeks ago- I got a 232 on it) and in between just reading FA and pathoma and reviewing sketchymicro.

[note: it usually takes me 4 hrs to do one Uworld block and go over it....that's why I'm hesitant to keep doing Uworld- yes its amazing but basically 3-4 blocks takes up my whole day]

What do yall think?

I stopped doing Uworld after I had about 300 questions left which was 1 week before my test. I was consistently getting in the 65%+ range and so I just started working on my weaknesses and reading FA/Pathoma. If you do NBMEs though make sure you figure out why you got the questions wrong.

USMLEsimple? I've never heard of anyone using it. their presentations look like they were made in the 1980s and then saved on a floppy disk and now transferred to youtube videos

is it possible to raise one's score say from a 235 to 240 in final two weeks?
I feel like at the end of the day a huge factor in our test score is going to be what subjects turn out to be represented more heavily on your individual test- if its something you're comfortable with then great, if not then that's not so favorable for you I guess.

I think the large volume of material on the exam lends itself to a lot of natural variance in scores. Five pts seems tiny and subject to luck. Then again, 300+ questions is a large sample size and anecdotally, students' scores are relatively consistent on NBMEs. Its hard to say.

I don't see how you couldn't raise your score from 235-240 in two weeks... A lot of people act like you can't improve over any amount of time less than 3-4 weeks... What's the point of even studying six weeks for dedicated... Like seriously, if you went balls to the wall on your weaknesses for two weeks then I definitely think you could raise your score by at least 5-10 points. Just doesn't make much sense to me.

whoooosh

So it's better to ditch the last 20% of usmle world and just memorize as much of FA as possible in the final week?

Only my second post here but from reading everywhere else, I don't think you should skip any of the uworld. Anyone else agree with this??

You shouldn't skip any of it if it's a frame of refrence in terms of info,

But as a study resource, I haven't seen anyone benefit from it

I wouldn't continue to do UW questions during the last week. It just makes you overthink. If you want, you could create blocks of untimed/tutor mode unused questions and click through them only reading the objectives & explanations, instead of going through the Q&A process.

Seems legit. So focus on reviewing explanations and maybe focus on tables in first aid? I've also converted the rapid review section of FA into flash cards.

235=240 depending on the test you get, like you said.
