Guys and Gals-

I'm on my final leg of my crazy studying. Anyone out there who have passed can share their final moments of preparation.

I've been up super early just practicing Math and RXPREP quizbank. I'm focusing on the big diseases now (mastering them) as I have gone through everything in the quizbank (~2000+ question). Socres are in the 80-100%. 😱😱

Pre naplex is only 75, so this is making me so anxious, although thank you to those who have posted their scores and shared their experiences candidly to all of us. (Much appreciated!!!)

Help me get through this crap!!!! Exam is Monday.

Read for an hour, take a break, read for an hour, take a break. That's what really helped me. I also looked at the questions at the end of each chapter and if I got any wrong its usually because I hadn't taken a break so I reread it. I never took the prenaplex because I a) would rather spend time reading! and b) I didn't want to freak myself out; also c) because Im lazy.

Youre going to get questions on the exam wrong. They asked me the most ridiculous random things. If you focus on those youll lose confidence and possibly mess up on future questions. Trust your gut. Get some good sleep over the weekend, eat a good complex carb the morning of (like this 3 sisters oatmeal at Whole Foods, gosh darnit its amazing) and enjoy the rollercoaster the next few days from: omg Im amazing I bet I got 100% to omg Im the dumbest Pharmacist ever, I wonder when the earliest I can retake it is?!

PS: Didn't see this anywhere but you have to login to nabp to get your results. They didn't email me or anything.

The Chai spiced one is my fav:

Thanks for your reply!!!!

My seatbelt are tightly fasten in this sick rollercoaster!!!!! Oh and I have that maple oatmeal 🙂 Great minds think a like eh?

How long does it take for NABP to post the score??? Good grief...more nights of crazy waiting...

Hi RxLouie! I was in your shoes a few days ago. Rxprep and Qbank will get you ready for the exam. I also did some extra practice with SDN 120 math and pre-Naplex, thought both of those helped a bit. The day before the exam, RELAX! During the exam, stay calm and be confident. Don't read too much into the questions. If you have absolutely no clue, take a guess and move on, and pace yourself. Best of luck on your Naplex! :luck:

I would say the same! Quiz bank, math, and relax!

I also got my scores in the afternoon 2 days after taking the test!

Just got back from the exam. Just know the main basic things about the drugs and you will be good for about 30-40% of the exam (things like dont use sartans in pregnancy, prils increase K, watch renal function with NSAIDs). 20-30% of the exam will be math. Know your math! Its simple but can be overwhelming if you havent done enough problems. I found rxprep more than sufficient. Most of my math was drip rates and changing percentages (how much of 1% will you need to make .01% type of stuff). Very little HIV/cancer on my exam, and ID was mostly limited to knowing which organisms are responsible for which infection and basic MOA of antibiotics. Had quite a few questions on bowel disease, which i wasnt super comfortable with. Also had quite a few questions on biologics (what are the indications of remicade, what does it target sort of stuff). Also I would recommend reviewing statistics! Super glad i looked over it the day before, had several questions on NNT and RR and p-value and what they actually mean. It was basic stuff but i might have gotten it wrong if i hadnt reviewed it. Also know dosage forms. Had at least four questions regarding dosage forms (which drug comes in an ODT, which drug has a long acting injection). I wouldnt go crazy, but i would memorize the ones that stand out. If all the drugs in a certain class are pills, and one is an injection, know which one.

All in all I probably stressed a lot more than I needed to for this exam. I did about 30% of rxprep quiz bank and read through the book several times (spent more time on big sections, barely read hepatitis and transplant). If you did all of the question bank and got high scores on it you will be more than okay. Best of luck!
