Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to this amazing forum for all the advice the past years After what felt like a long journey, I finally have an acceptance—EEK!!

I’m planning to audit an anatomy course online (preferably free, no credit/grade) just to refresh my knowledge and get back into the swing of things. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Also, if anyone has suggestions for Anki decks that would be helpful for a pre-med refresher / general pre-matriculation prep), I’d love to hear them!

Thanks again so much—feeling so grateful and manifesting A's for everyone else this cycle!!!

Go on vacation lmao. You’ll be in school for long enough, no need to start early!

1st year med student here. You'll learn everything in med school that you need to know, and outside learning, if not managed appropriately, could be somewhat detrimental as once you learn something wrong, its harder to unlearn it.

IF you're really desperate to throw away your last few months of freedom, then I would say:
-Get familiar with how Anki works if you aren't already
-Look into research, if you have an inkling of wanting to do a competitive specialty
-Do some sort of part time work. Won't offset your loans, but a little bit of spending money ain't a bad way to start school

That being said, I'd say keep the vacationing and time with your family up. This'll be the most free you'll be able to do either of those for at least the next 7 at least, and potentially as many as 11-12 years for that.

I’d say party as hard as possible because you’re about to have no life.

There’s theoretically a Blue Mich anatomy deck that’s good. And there’s AnKing and Sketxhy micro, pharm, and pathoma. But you’d just be doing medical school early. If that’s your thing that’s fine I guess, if you keep up the cards you’ll remember it all. But I’d just chill dude.

Oh, and basically nothing you learned as a premed matters, either for med school or taking care of patients. I have no idea why the prereqs exist. Cell bio was maybe a teensy bit useful but that’s it.
