Good point! And to further prevent delays I would start brainstorming what you'll write on some of those supplemental essays. You can dig up the prompts for many schools from the last cycle and get an idea of what they'll ask. I did that with UF (they asked to write an entirely new personal statement different from the AADSAS statement). I found the essay question from last year's application and already had it written by the time they gave me the supplemental, so I had it submitted within an hour.
