hey all,
i was set on UOP until a few days ago when i got the call from UCSF, since then i've been going absolutely crazy with indecision. i finally decided to go to UCSF, so a spot just opened at UOP for those of you that were waiting, good luck and have fun. my decision making process was as logical as i could muster at the time, i wasn't sleeping much worrying about current classes and which school to go to.
i figured the 3 year vs. 4 year thing was a tie because the money saved in tuition at UCSF is roughly equal to what i might earn my first year out of UOP (assuming i was ready right out of the gates), but still I would have been out a year earlier, that still bothers me a bit. anyhow, time and money canceling eachother out (in my opinion), i looked to the research opportunities, which are superior at UCSF, because i haven't ruled out the possibility of trying to specialize (not that you can't specialize out of UOP, but i think UCSF has the upper hand in this department). also, i like the idea of being on a campus with a variety of other professionals rather than solely dentists. UOP's dental facility is much nicer for sure, but i think UCSF's overall campus is better, and they're pouring more money into the dental facility so hopefully it'll improve by the time i'm in clinic, plus they just built a new gym in mission bay thats supposed to be sick (massage services available at discount for UCSF students? yeah count me in on that).
well thats it. take care.
