Hey guys,
So I'm officially back in school. I've been on here thinking about coming back for a few years, but now week 4 is almost in the books and I've been enjoying some parts of the experience. My current course load is Gen Chem (w/ lab and recitation), Biology (w/ lab), and Calculus (w/ recitation). I decided to go with calc because it's something I've always been interested in and I would like to take calc based physics next semester. Had my first exam in calc yesterday, so we'll see if I'm still happy with the decision after I get that back... I am pretty confident about it!

I'm also working about 15 hours a week on campus tutoring, on top of my other job. Super busy!

How are everyone else's semesters going?

Congrats. I am almost done the current program I am in. I have been a RN for a while. Biggest thing is keep all A's while working, and I have been able to do that thus far.
The biggest pain in my butt is in working off shift while I do this. Plus there have been a couple of personal road blocks along the way. I'm not the only here at SDN, clearly, that has had to deal with such things. Sometimes there is no way around them, only through them.

I hadn't taken a really grand vacation in a long time, so took one this summer. We went to Italy, France, Spain, and Monte Carlo. Great but exhausting, and I would not recommend doing this again in July. Doing Europe isn't a laid back vaca, say like the Caribbean. You walk A LOT, b/c there is so much to do and see--so much history. You wake up early and go all day and into the night. When you hit the bed, you are out. It's just too hot and too crowded to do all those areas in July.

Next July, I am heading back up to Maine-if I can. That's one of the best places to chill in the heat of summer--warm enough to swim many days, but you can also light a fire at night--or do the whole lobster and corn-on-the-cob bond fire beach thing.

Don't know if I will even be able to take a vaca next year. Questa è la vita! or C'est la vie, s'il vous plaît!

I could say this part of my whole school process feels like it is taking forever, but then I'd be spitting in the wind of my life and the journey. Again, it would help tons if I didn't have to work. It's tough to do that, try to have a life, and keep straight A's.

I am planning on taking Calc too. . .just for kicks. 😀

Good luck to you!

Hi jl. My brother actually went on a similar vacation as you this July. He was there for an entire month visiting all kinds of places. I'm more about going to one place and chilling there for a while. It's been forever since I've been to Europe. I think next time I go, I need to see France and the cathedrals.

So I got my calc test back and got a 100!! I was so happy. It's my first test back in school and it feels like I can actually do this now. The more important test is Friday, chem. I told myself i'd by a nice bottle of bourbon if I got an A, so I'm looking forward to that too. 🙂

Awesome stuff! Enjoy!

Are you working too? This whole thing would go a lot smoother if I could totally give up work--like do a couple of shifts a month. It's such a pia to keep the 4.0 when you have to work. It's probably b/c I'm spoiled, and I like having a life. I am thinking in the next year, I'll probably have to give up that idea entirely.

Yep. Your brother did it right. 10 days was too much cramming of crap. Glad I went though. Wish I were there now. But if I am going to meet my goals to head south permanently, I have got to stay on track.

Keep up the good work!
