do I finially submitted my application. Questions:

1. How long does it take for application to be mailed out?

2. Do all the following schools have secondaries?: SUNY, Berkeley, PCO, NECO, ICO, Michigian Coll. Opt, OSU, Univ. Houston

3. Do schools offer fee waivers for supplementary?

4. Off the schools mentioned in 2, which are the best in your opinion? My top choice is Berkeley and SUNY. My stats once again are 3.69 double major, and 340 AA and 360 TS

5. Any other helpful comments? Thanks for all your help!

And for the people who keep stocking my page?! FYI, I am using the same login name for my friend who applied to MD/DO schools. So no, I am not applying to medical schools.

1. If your OPTOMCAS GPA is already calculated and all your LORs are in by the time you submit your OPTOMCAS application, then it shouldn't take too long before your application will be mailed out. OPTOMCAS mails out applications every Friday, but in order to be in that week's mail-out on Friday, you have to have all your stuff in by that Monday.

2. Out of all the schools you listed, I only applied to 3. PCO does not require a secondary app., NECO only requires you to answer a few questions as part of the OPTOMCAS app., and ICO will email you the secondary once they receive your mailed app. and deemed you as a competitive applicant.

3. For the above 3, not that I know of.

4. I think they are all excellent schools. It really depends what you are looking for in a school (clinical training, location, student body diversity, etc.)

5. Your stats look pretty solid. I don't see why you wouldn't get an interview. 🙂

1. vis10's answer is good.

2. UHCO does have a secondary- $50, I believe. They usually get to you pretty quickly after they receive your primary.

3. Not too sure about waivers- you may want to contact them via email

4. I could give you a whole spiel of the pros/cons of UHCO, so just pm if you need it!

5. Good luck and keep pressing on!

LOL, is this a which hunt?! 😱

Why do you feel it's inappropriate to apply to MD and DO at the same time as OD? Some people like to keep their options open. I've heard of one person that applied to all of the three mentioned above AND dentistry. I don't know if they got in but that's not the point. If you enjoy working with patients and are flexible, then what's wrong with applying to more than one health program?

BTW, ICO has a $50 fee and MCO is free.

OptomCAS sends out stuff each Thursday, not Friday. I think the schools get an electronic version too, in addition to actual hard copies via mail.
