im not hating, if i were hating, it'd be as if i was jealous and trying to knock someone down with stellar stats who is attempting to apply at this point.
this is not the case, and even as DO schools do look at the holistic applicant, bad stats are bad stats ... even if this person had a good GPA id say he or she stood a decent chance, but even that isnt in his/her favor. this sugar-coating business is what gives these systems and DO schools lotsa $, because of the naivete of many pre-meds. Should you pursue medicine? Sure. At this point, I'd say no. You have a better chance of getting in if you apply EARLY next season (in only 6 months or so), and boost up that MCAT and GPA at the very least. I am only keepin it real, because you can have all the false hope from these guys all day long, at the end of the day, its not up to them nor I, its up to the adcoms at DO schools. That's why I say, if you wish to still apply, go for Touro, as that may be your best chance if at all .. and even then, fact is, youre still not guaranteed anything. I would have saved all this $ and tried for 2008 personally. If this is called hating, then whatever, que sera sera.
