Help! I've been stricken with a severe case of procrastination! At least my apartment is clean now. That's why I love finals week - everything that I put off during the semester gets done as a method of putting off studying for finals.

What are your methods of procrastinating during finals?

My last final of undergrad is in one hour and here I sit, reading this forum and replying. Yes, studentdoctor.net is without a doubt the best means of procrastination. Yesterday I found myself reading through the neurosurgery threads on the medical school forums. I mean, knowing how much a neurosurgeon works and gets paid will be helpful next year in psych grad school . I need to know these things.

I am sitting here going from thread to thread as my method of procrastination. Usually it's Spider solitaire. What studies have been done to answer the question "why do we procrastinate?" I would like to know. I have to disgustingly difficult finals tomorrow and all I want to do is play cards. I am in complete denial. 😳

Hahaha... I am finishing my last take home final of my undergraduate career... and it is in politics. Specifically constitutional law. And the gorgeous sunshine outside is NOT helping. Thanks SDN for giving me something else to do 🙂

And oh yeah, I too feel like playing solitare, or fixing up my room, or anything other than what I should be doing.

The apartment cleaning gets me EVERY semester...except this one! Yes, I have overcome my need to clean my apartment from top to bottom during finals this week. Here's how you accomplish it: The week BEFORE finals, just force yourself to clean it from top to bottom, including every nook and cranny. Now as I study for finals, my apt. is spotless which gives me one less reason to procrastinate. Also, I find that studying in a clean environment increases my focus 😛.

I purchased a book titled Procrastination. When it was delivered from Amazon, I immediately put it on the bookshelf and told myself...I'll read it later. Ah, the irony.😎

My finals are over! Looks like I've got a month break before June session starts. Unfortunately, I MUST get to wo rk on my thesis. Is anyone else done with finals yet?

Yep! Finals & papers are all done! And I graduated Friday.

The next day, I made my brother's wedding cake & went to his wedding, & since then I've been painting & cleaning. (And I had out-of-state family staying out my house from last Thursday through yesterday. Whew! Glad to have my house back now!) We're having a moving sale on Saturday, & we're listing our house on Monday! Yikes!

I, scienceisbeauty, am a procrastinator. I have done this too many times before - it usually ends up working out . I have 9 hrs to finish a 25 page paper. Guess how many pages I currently have? 12.5.

One of my favorite forms of procrastination is to look at apartments on Craigslist... Even when I have no intention of moving for a while! I also look at the APPIC website although I'm a first year PhD...umm and ugh.. read celebrity gossip online 😳
