My advice for you as a pre-med? Go talk to a real live investment adviser, immediately. Most banks and credit unions have one, or can give you the name of someone trustworthy. Do not follow financial advice from randos on the internet.

You are talking about enough money here that it would be worth it to hire a financial adviser. Are you okay with some risk and a higher potential for increase? Or do you want the lowest risk possible? If you don't want any risk, I would go for just a CD. If you're okay with some risk, then you should get a professional to help you invest it. If you want high risk, chuck the money in the stock market and see what happens.
