Financial Aid distribution

I'll be starting dental school this coming fall and I have a question for you guys. Do the schools usually distribute the financial aid before each quarter/semester starts? Or do they pay for your full year tution and give you the cost of living for the whole year in August? Just curious!

in undergrad they always broke it up per semester.

They break it up by the term, so if you're on a semester system, you get half of your award in the fall and then in the spring.
