I've seen a lot of posts about not knowing about fin aid packages before making decisions on which school to attend. I seem to be in a different predicament.
I am currently on the Alternate List at Wayne State, and the other day I received a financial aid award letter from their Office of Student Affairs/Financial Aid. I am assuming that this is not an error, that they are just getting their affairs in order in the case I am accepted. Two questions:
1) Should I be getting my hopes up about possible acceptance?
2) The "Cost of Attendance" portion of the award letter grossly underestimates what even an in-state student would require, and I am out of state (i.e. does not even cover their in-state tuition costs). Is this an error, or am I expected to cover the rest with private loans?
I will call the office directly, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this too (primarily the Fin Aid package prior to an acceptance)
Thnx,
PBM
