I thought maybe it's a good idea to start a financial aid thread for us non-trads, since it's time to look into it. I don't have any advice to offer 😛 but if anyone is familiar with the process and has tips on avoiding pitfalls, missing deadlines, and other pertinent information, please speak up!

So, let's start with a few basics:

What types of financial aid are available (besides esoteric scholarships for pre-med jugglers)? When should we fill out the applications (FAFSA, etc)?
What are some expected turnaround dates and deadlines?
