When do we begin to hear from schools that have accepted us how much money they are going to give us?

I was glancing over Upitt info and it looked like they won't even tell you until May 1st or something. That is not going to give us much time to figure out what school is giving us the most and try to bargain with other schools <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

It varies school by school -- most of them have initial deadlines for all paperwork (FAFSA + school fin. aid application) to be completed by March or April, so they usually tell you about a month later.

If you still haven't heard from some schools by May 15th, write to those schools and explain that's why you are still holding multiple acceptances -- that's usually considered a very legitimate reason to do so. But, make sure you communicate this to the schools -- it's your job to do so, otherwise you risk having an acceptance rescinded.

Now moving this to the fin. aid forum

I was wondering the same thing Scooby.

Does anyone know....
If we are hoping to get some kind of scholarship (full ride even) would a school let you know when they accept you? or would you hear about something like this when the school gives you a financial aid offer?

At Kentucky, they told us that they start awarding scholarships early on, but some people are still getting scholarship offers late into the year, even into the summer. I guess all schools are different, though. :)
