Financial aid wtf???

This is my first time dealing with financial aid as I was quite fortunate and had a rich relative leave my sister and I enough money that I was able to get through undergrad and graduate school with no loans.

Our loans were supposed to disburse today. I didnt see money in my checking account so I called financial aid and they said "your grad plus disbursed and you should see that in your account by monday, but your stafford loan was rejected." It previously said "approved" on my bannerweb for my school so I am wondering wtf happened. I am sound financially, have a mortgage and all that so it has nothing to do with me. It seems like financial aid F'd something up and are going to need to redo my loan package now.

Is this something that is common or has everything always gone smoothly with financial aid for you guys??

Ouch, I am a nontrad and was approved for all loans despite my income for last yr. How is this possible? I would call them up and ask what happened...otherwise call the processing center.

I am a nontrad as well. It has nothing to do with finances. It has to do with the fact that apparently everyone switched to the direct loan program for the first time this year and there is something the fin aid office ****ed up....I just got off the phone with the director.

Its great. I have a mortgage payment that was due on the first of this month...so I am 6 days late. We thankfully have a 15 day grace period. I feel as though I am not the only one who got this F'd up.

Not that I'm aware of. I was just referring to the feeling of discomfort you're experiencing.

I am a nontrad as well. It has nothing to do with finances. It has to do with the fact that apparently everyone switched to the direct loan program for the first time this year and there is something the fin aid office ****ed up....I just got off the phone with the director.

Yes its my first time. I completed all that stuff months ago, got a "your file is complete e mail from fin aid," It also lists it as being complete on my banner web, shows my award and everything says "approved."

AH okay. I did everything properly on my part. The grad plus disbursed just fine...its just the stafford I am having the issue with.
