Hey guys,

I am a junior at penn state university park campus and I plan on applying to dental school in June of 2019.
I haven't yet started to study for the DAT because of my class schedule but I will soon. Anyway, I don't come from the wealthiest family and I am not allowed to work a regular job or my mom will lose her public assistance (Public Housing). So I can only do work study which is about 10 hours a week. I barely make anything on a month to month basis with all my financial burdens and I have the DAT coming up so prep materials and the actual exam, applying and I also need to take 2 summer classes this coming summer. I already know about the DAT fee waiver and application waiver, but those won't make too much of a difference tbh. So I'm looking at about $3000 I need to come up with and I would like it soon so I can get started with everything. Does anyone know of any easy loans I could do by myself because I don't have any cosigner options. Or does anyone know of any other ways I could get this money soon? Thanks.

P.S I talked to my advisor about some scholarships that my college of science could give me but I'm still waiting

Hey Zahir, have you tried talking with financial aid at Penn State? You might be able to take out a Federal Student Loan. I believe those do not require cosigners.

Hi, I haven't talked to financial aid yet but that is a good idea. Is the loan called a "Federal Student Loan" or is this a class of specific loans?
