Finding a DO to shadow in Georgia

I live in the Atlanta, GA area and I have been looking around for a D.O. to shadow. I have already shadowed an M.D. but I would like to shadow a D.O. as well. It seems difficult to find any D.O.'s here...I only know of one and I can't shadow him; the organization doesn't allow it.

Does anyone know of any D.O.'s in the area to shadow?

Go to http://cf.osteopathic.org/iLearn/index.cfm?pageid=ment_exchange and create a pre-med account. Once you have it you will be able do "Browse" for DO physicians in your area. Hope that helps.

Here, let me google that for you as by my count there are 199 registered with the GA DO association, most of them in the Atlanta metro.

You could also contact the admissions office of GA-PCOM. I'm sure than can set you up with someone.

I went through this last year. GOMA will direct you to contact Dr. Barry Doublestein at http://goi.org/. Dr. Doublestein is the current President at Osteopathic Institute of the South, a group which is working to promote DO medicine in the South.

He can help you connect with a DO to shadow. He also been on AdComs for Nova so if you need pointers on applying, he can help you with that as well. He was super helpful in guiding me with solid advice that lead me to being accepted into a DO program.
