seriously though, don’t sweat it. Most practices look at training a little but are more interested in personality and skill set.

If there are a ton of other higher ranked programs nearby, you might not be as competitive as people from those programs for the top end pp jobs. If you're the only game in town, doesnt matter. Also might not be able to get a job in like LA or San Fran coming from some no name place in midwest.

I know a lot of graduates of "top programs" who are terrible anesthesiologists, and a lot of graduates from low tier programs who are excellent.
Anesthesia is a field where mechanical knowledge, manual skills and dexterity, situational awareness, instinct, rapid decision making, social skills, and work ethic are vastly more important than the test taking ability that allows "smart" people get into top residencies.

Do you have a pulse? If "yes" you'll find a job. If "no" it's not very likely, but certainly possible.

Your residency is only likely to affect you in your first job either way. If you find that you have a tough time getting a job in a nearby PP, don’t sweat it. Take a job in a rural area, work for 3-4 years building a good reputation, then go wherever you want. You will be judged by your skills, not your training at that point.

Is it 90%+ guaranteed? Or is it a golden carrot dangled in front of you for 3 years?
The best way to look at this is you're in Minnesota for ~$350 (I might be off on the starting salary) supervising 4:1 for 3 years with a potential upside. No?

Every job represents risk. I believe in the group and the setup. I’m excited to be a part of it. Maybe Minnesota isn’t for everyone. For all I know I’ll hate the cold too, but having lived in Utah and Ohio without difficulty, I think I’ll be ok.
As far as $$$, I think the potential for MGMA 90th+ is there, but I’m under no delusion that it’s a guarantee. >75th% seems pretty safe, but anything higher than that is even better. The risks may be higher with a new group. however, there are definitely advantages to being one of the initial partners in a group.
If it were simply a money issue there were other options I could have gone with. Maybe the job isn’t for everyone, but I’m excited about it. Also, this isn’t an AMC so hopefully we’ll keep the supervision to a max of 3:1 the majority of the time.
