I was wondering where we would look to find out where I would be for residency in March? Is it March 15 or 17? I'm not sure if the result is sent to our email or to the ERAS site and we have to log in to retrieve it. Thanks.

I don't know the date, but if you are doing the main residency match, it is through NRMP. Go to the NRMP website and they have a timeline there. You will have to register on that site, which is where you will submit your rank list. On Match Day, you have to log into the site to find out where you matched (either that, or find out through your med school that day - most schools have a Match Day ceremony of some sort where you can find out).

You find out a couple of days before match day IF you matched. If you did NOT, then you can arrange to scramble if you so wish. Otherwise, if you did match, you have to wait a couple of nerve-wracking days to find out WHERE.

Do programs find out what number you ranked them? Lets say you rank program A #4 on your list and wind up matching there. Does Program A find out they were #4 on your list and what program you unsuccessfully ranked #1 or does Program A only know that they matched you?

Programs do not know where you ranked them. You will not find out where programs ranked you. I think programs can find out where students on their ROLs ended up going if they didn't match at their program. I think that's pretty much it. Most of what can be deciphered has to do with the #1 spot. For instance, let's say you tell program X, "I will rank you #1." Program X decides to rank you highly. On Match day, you DON'T match at program X, then program X knows you lied. The reverse is true. If program X tells you, "We will rank you high enough for you to match here if you choose" and you get all giddy, rearrange your ROL such that program X is your #1 and then come Match Day, you don't get your #1 choice...then you know that you got served by program X and you fell for their shenanigans trick.
