Finding physicians for elective rotations

Does anyone have any advice for scheduling an elective 3rd or 4th year rotation with a physician not associated with my med school and in another city? I very much want to do some elective rotations in NYC (Manhattan) that are not hospital-based, for instance, yet have no personal connections with physicians.

Are there places on SDN for this? Other organizations that list willing physicians? Anything other than cold-calling?

my school had a list of physicians that have taken students from my school in the past. that was how i got an elective away from sch in my 3rd yr.

Talk to ur alumni department and they should have list of alumni from ur sch and where they are practicing. Maybe u can give them a call.
