Fingerprinting: background check

Does your hospital require a fingerprinted background check? I know that Texas requires a fingerprinted background check for licensing. Do you know if a person has to do it twice (one for license and one for employment at hospital)

If yes, please say which hospital you work in.

if you'll be working at a VA, you'll be fingerprinted.

While I don't remember doing it for the VA, I wouldn't discount the possibility (having worked for the VA in a past life). My main hospital didn't fingerprint and I wasn't for the unrestricted license or DEA either.
