I just took the DAT today.. and I have a few things to say about it. First, here are my scores:

PAT 19
QR 19
RC 18
BIO 19
CHEM 20
ORGO 21
TS 20
AA 19

I am pretty happy about the scores... I think they are decent and they will get me in somewhere.. but in regard to the PAT.. I know I didnt get the
highest score, but 19 is a sound score.. here is what I have to say:

PAT:
It is JUST AS EASY AS KAPLAN.. it is WAY EASIER than ACHIEVER. I really have no idea why people on SDN try to make Kaplan to be such bad prep for it. It is exactly the same as Kaplan. It is really easy. Achiever is exteremely way too hard in comparison. I think it is still good to do achiever because it prepares you, but RELAX, it is nothing like that.

BIO
Pretty hard in my opinion. NOTHING on hormones or the circulatory system.. which pissed me off because I studied my butt off learning that stuff. There was a lot on classification, which I wasn't at all prepared for because I never learned that anywhere and kaplan wouldn't go into that much detail as expected, since kaplan is only a study aid, not a course text book devoted to that stuff.

CHEMand ORGO
Fair

GR
Decent, some trickier questions, but all in all really decent.

RC
I was surprised that I didn't do that well because on Kaplan and Achiever I was getting 22-23's. I think that was a fluke because I was pretty tired (didn't sleep well past few days). But my method was good to me. Method: read the ~1st and ~last sentence of each paragraph and any highlite worthy words that you see (not read) in the passage. Then do the Kaplan Map strategie, but don't read the whole thing. That gives you an understanding about what the passage is about and a reference guide to ALMOST ALL of the answers. I'd say that about 98% of the questions can be answered using this method.

Well I guess that's all. Definately DO NOT FREAK OUT about the PAT. Kaplan is more than enough to prepare you for it. It was really easy. Nothing super complicated like Achiever.

I'd say that I probably did about +1-2 points for all the science sections except about -4 points for RC and -2 in QR. Maybe because it was the end of the test and I was getting tired, who knows. I wish I retained my stamina through out. But the test is very easy. I don't think I will retake it since these scores are good enough to get in somewhere... but if I was to go back in time, I would have learned more of the Bio and would have made sure that my RQ and QR speeds were up to par. Well good luck everyone else!!!

Oh, also.. I would attribute my only average QR score to the fact that I HATE TRIG and honestly don't know why on earth I didn't study for it.. and there were at least 3 or 4 questions on TRIG.. so be ready!

Many classficiation problems? meaning I need to know all those phylums...🙁
or is it more like...kingdom->phylum.....geus, species order?

awesome scores. But this classification stuff is scaring me lol.
Could you elaborate without going into too much detail? Some key words we should know when classifying? lol

just study the subject, man. the excessive cheating on here's gotten rather discouraging. integrity doesn't seem to be highly valued by future dentists. rather sad.

...the AAMC made discussing MCAT questions a strict violation of professional conduct. The ADEA should do the same.

I don't really remember exactly what the questiosn were, But lots of questions regarding the origin of X or how it is related to Y. Lots of that stuff. Just basically similar to those annoying ones in Kaplan or Achiever that will ask you like... when you need to know how many chambers a fish, bird, whatever has in its heart. That kinda stuff, basically non-human info. As for reading, I think it was pretty similar to Kaplan/Achiever. I think I just didnt do so hot from a little stress.

I agree guys, lets keep the test to ourselves. its alright to give advice and share experiences, so long as it doesnt reveal any questions or answers. to the OP, good job and have a good summer.
