Hi Guys,

I've pretty much been a silent observer of SDN for a while so I thought I would try to be of some help to others now that I'm done. 🙂

My Scores:
Bio: 20
G-chem: 22
O-chem: 22
TS: 21
QR: 19
RC: 23
PAT: 20
AA: 21

For study material I took the kaplan course and also used Destroyer, Achiever, Top Score. The kaplan course I feel is good for general science foundation knowledge....plus a lotta practice tests...though they are easier than the read DAT. Destroyer...a must!!!!!!!!!! I can’t tell you enough how good the problems are...and I am not joking...on the sciences, specifically bio...there were almost word-for-word questions from the destroyer book on my exam (6/14). Plus Dr. Romano and Nancy are very helpful and supportive if you have any questions....highly recommended! Next, in line of importance would be achiever. The problems are def. harder than the real thing...but that’s always a good thing. PAT on the achiever is killer....so it’s good to boost your pat practice and scores. Plus, Raymond Fam is also very nice and helpful if you have any questions about achiever material. Topscore would be last on my list of importance...but as they say the more practice the better...so I guess u can never go wrong with "too much" material. Well, feel free to ask me any questions...Just want to tell everyone to stay positive and study hard...it will pay off! Take Care! 😀

Awesome scores!!! I am taking the same road as you and hopefully with similar results!!!

Thanks! Good luck...and hope you do great!! My GPA is 3.3 general and about 3.0 science (ucla) 🙁. Can you guys give me some imput...do i have a chance this cycle considering my low gpa and dat scores (posted above)?? is DAT weighted as strongly as GPA?? Please let me know what u guys think. Thanks!!!

awesome DAT mark can u tell me how u studied for RC ? and did u use any strategy?

For reading, I would suggest switching methods according to the passage. Skim and "take notes" for the ones that are dense and full of confusing info....and by notes, i just mean quickly writing down the keywords within each paragraph. But for some passages, topics are basically separated visibly into paragraphs and for those just go straight to the questions and hunt till u find the answer...that worked for me...hope it helps u as well. Also, there were a few (not a lot) of inference questions and I would save those and answer them after I had finished aswering all the detail questions. That way u already have a basic understanding about tone, meaning, etc. Lastly, I just want to say....as hard as it maybe before a test...really try to stay positive and believe in yourself...u really can do anything u put ur mind to! Hope this helped. Take Care. 😀

I believe each school weighs the DATS and GPA differently. For instance, I am under the impression, UOP cares more about DAT scores, they are top in the nation for it. However, their GPA ave is low compared to other schools.

Hey Bryan, how was Math?

Were there any crazy probablilty problems?

Were they more Destroyer or Top Score type problems?

Math is one section that I want to score a 30.

let me know more about the Math section....thanks

Better apply to UOP then! 🙂 Thanks!

Math was hard for me. I took math up to ordinary differential equations and still thought it was challenging. Most likely b/c there are a lot of probability problems. I didn't use top score or destroyer, just Kaplan and barrons. I spent soo many hrs practicing the QC section, and went from 17 on my practice test to 19. This is from a boy that loves math, less statistics though.

YAY! apply to UOP!!! see you next yr perhaps! If you haven't turned in your app already, do it soon. If your GPA is above 3.2-3.3 pretty sure u'll get an interview

Any Kaplan dat review notes, lesson plans, flashcards for sale?

Big cat, quit bumping old threads. Just PM the people if you want to know if they have materials.

Or go to the classified section of SDN. Where people have stuff for sale, and yes, they advertise it. 😉
