Finished Steps 1 & 2 - Please advise

Hi,
I am new to the forum but have heard a lot of good things about it.

Here is my situation:
I am an IMG. I just completed my Step 1 (this week). I have already completed both parts of Step 2. I am kind of late in the application cycle so looking for any advice as how should I proceed. I have to be ECFMG certified (for which I need the Step 1 score) before I can apply to the IM residency programs. I heard it will take about 3-4 weeks for the score.

Is there any realistic chance for me in the SOAP?

Looking forward to any advice in this situation.

You don't have to be ECFMG certified. Some programs say that they require ECFMG "certification" before they can rank you, but most of them really mean ECFMG "verification", which only requires you to have passed Step 1 and 2.

Also, many programs don't even require ECFMG certification/verification at this stage. You only really need to be certified before you start working on July 1.

You can actually take them in any order you want. It's not uncommon for non-US IMGs to take Step 2 first.
