Dear Fellow SDNers
Today I took my DAT at 8am at the prometric testing center and here are my scores:
PAT: 19
QR: 15 😡
RC: 21
BIO: 22
GC: 22
OC: 24
TS: 22
AA: 21
Overall, I'm pretty happy with my scores except for that QR. I started studying for the MCAT in December of last year and took the Princeton Review course. I decided about half way through that I didn't want to become a doctor and so I shadowed a dentist in Orlando and my dad (he's a dentist) in south Florida and realized that dentistry is what I want to do.
I borrowed the Kaplan blue book from a friend, used the Kaplan online materials, purchased Exam Krackers 1001 General Chemistry questions, bought Topscore and took all three tests. The princeton review books were by far my best resource as far as information except for plants, ecology, and classification. Topscore was a must for the test taking experience.
Here are my topscore...scores:
Test 1
AA: 19
BIO: 18
GC: 18
OC: 23
PA: 18
QR: 15
RC: 20
TS: 19
Test 2
Bio: 18
GC: 16
OC: 19
PA: 20
QR: 18
RC: 22
TS: 18
Test 3
Bio: 17
GC: 18
OC: 18
PA: 18
QR: 14
I didn't take RC on test 3. The test is exactly how everyone has said. Not really tough but it does test your knowledge of general concepts on everything. I was always bad at gen chem but I managed a 22 so I'm pretty happy. I ran out of time on QR on all the topscore tests so on the real DAT, I marked/skipped the more difficult word problems and went straight to the algebra and trig. Before I noticed, I had about 10 mins left and went back for the word problems. I finished every section early and to all those taking the test good luck, it's not that bad.
