Finnished all applications in August. It is the end of September, only one invitation for interview.

I am pretty sure this question, or rather concern, get's addressed a lot, but I cannot find the appropriate thread to answer my question.

I have applied to dental schools of my choice, and my application were all complete, including the fees and secondary applications by the end of August. It is the end of september and so far I have only one interview, at Boston University. Should I be worried?

Schools I applied to:
Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California (USC)
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Dental Medicine (RSDM)
University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine (BUF)
Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine (SUSB)
The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University (TEMP)
Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Dentistry (LSU)
Georgia Regents University College of Dental Medicine (GRU)
University of Louisville School of Dentistry (UL)
Creighton University School of Dentistry (CRE)
Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BU)

My stats:
GPA science: 3.44
GPA non-science: 3.66
DAT:
PA 22
QR 20
RC 20
Bio 18
GC 18
Ochem 24
Total science 19
AA 20

5+ years of experience as a dental assistant in mult-practice office

So should I worry?

its still pretty early in the application cycle. what is your residency? georgia and louisiana really only accept in state students so i wouldn't expect to hear from them. stony brook and buffalo only accept very few out of state students.

That's really good already. I submitted in mid-late August and only has 1 pre-dec interview in late Nov/early Dec. Just be patient and find other things to do.

Applied to 21 schools in August (everything submitted by mid-August).
GPA: 3.75 cumulative, 3.55 science
DAT: 22AA, 22 TS, 20 PAT

I have one interview coming up in October, have been waitlisted at two others, and haven't heard much of anything from the rest. I'm in the same boat. I think it's all about patience. I know some schools don't even send out interview invites until October (UCLA, Utah, and others), at least that is what I keep telling myself! I'm sure everything will work out the way that it is supposed to.

My apps and supps were finished the beginning-mid august and I have 0 invites. Most of mine aren't even under review yet..
When I start to get worried/anxious I just remember that my stats are fine and it isn't helping the adcoms go faster lol so just relax

A lot of the schools you applied to have not even sent out interviews yet (based on what I've been seeing on the interview thread). You're fine.

Note: Also, LSU is not out of state friendly unless you're from a surrounding state without a dental school.

my app was mailed 8/6...only one interview so far.

Another thing about LSU: they end up their application process pretty early. They start inviting in August. And their last day is in October (the 23rd to be precise according to their calendar, which is found on their website). They also call for invitations a month in advance, so, people who are interviewing that last day already got their invitations last week... 🙁

i applied to 15 schools, 1st batch and only have 1 interview. don't worry just be patient :luck::xf:

Just prepare really thoroughly for the interview. Can't control invitations.
