At this point, First Aid 2016 should be available in about 2 months. I'm planning to take step 1 in June 2016.

Which option would you say is best at this point?

1) Buy FA 2015 and use it for step 1

2) Buy FA 2015 and use it until FA 2016 is out

3) Wait for FA 2016

FA16 should be available to you in December.

Of course wait for FA 2016.
Meanwhile, do Pathoma, USMLERx or Kaplan.

#3. For now just use the FA 2015 PDF that's on google.

For those of us with FA2015 already and have been using it, if we are taking the test in June 2016, should we get the newest book?

As a continuation of the topic...
I have been using FA for a couple of months and annotating some points from RX and kaplan into it. First pass of FA will finish by the end of December.
I will buy FA2016 as soon as it comes (it's coming out on Jan 08 by the way, Amazon) and will start UWorld simultaneously.
My exam will be around end of May.
How should I go about the new FA:
1. Stick to my all highlighted/annotated FA15 mainly and only refer to FA16 for new topics added. Make notes for UWorld in a separate journal.
OR:
2. Put away my FA15, do the second and subsequent passes of FA using FA16 & annotate UWorld into it.
OR: any 3rd, better suggestion is welcome.

Thanks!

I started with FA 2014 last year and just stuck with it until my boards in june. I already annotated it a bunch and didn't want to switch. Didn't make a difference in my opinion

I can think of a couple of things that were in FA 2015 but not in FA 2014 that popped up on my Step 1 (I know b/c I looked at the corresponding sections of each book relating to the questions). I'm not allowed to say what they were, but the new things they put in each year are important. Might make a difference of a point or two (potentially).

If you've already annotated a bunch into it, you can do what I did, which was find a pdf of the new First Aid and add in the new bits of information into your old First Aid as you read through it throughout the year or during dedicated. Or, First Aid also uploads a pdf online detailing all the changes and additions made to the new edition, and then you can just print that and insert it into your old First Aid book.

How do you know?
Because I did well on the test and don't think an extra picture or rearranging of a table or 2 would have increased it. They may have added extra material, but they also took away some things. Regardless, FA is a skeleton for your board prep no matter what edition you have.

If you look in the right places (aka the internet) you won't have to buy a pdf version (wink wink)

Could you please tell me where that PDF can be found? I've annotated too much to go buy the newest one. Thank you!
