In First Aid '05, under Pharmacology - Cardiovascular, there's a whole page (including a picture/diagram) devoted to "Lipid-lowering agents".

In First Aid '06, nothing: "Lipid-lowering agents" has been omitted.

What's the deal; no longer high-yield? Are there any other major exclusions in the '06 version that anyone has spotted?

Yeah, apparently Rickettsial infections aren't worth knowing anymore either!! There were also some deletions in the immunology section, but I can't remember specifically which topic at the moment.

I'm just gonna keep using my 2005 and my 2006. I haven't noticed any "new" material yet, only deletions...

Same here, I've already cut a couple pages out of the 2005 edition.

Thanks for the heads up on the Rickettsial deletion. If I see more, I'll report my findings.

Ditto. This would be a worthwhile "sticky."

Page numbers (referencing the 2005 edition) would be a convenient way of reporting the omissions.

Immuno stuff in '05, but not in '06:

p. 205 Adjuvant definition

p. 208 Acute phase response (flow chart)

What about new material in the '06 edition that are not in the prior editions?

Is FA 2006 worth getting with all the deletions? Is the new format helpful?

I've noticed a few additions so far, but I'm more concerned with the deletions since I'll be transferring info from 2005 to 2006, not the other way around.

Is 2006 worth getting? I still say yes. One, because I like the new format; and two, because of the aforementioned additions (few they may be).

Are currently preparing for your Micro Board? Just curious because I am also reviewing the same material...

We didn't take a Micro Board - I'm assuming it's the same as a shelf exam?

I was actually studying pharm (and the anti-arrhythmics were driving me up the wall) when I decided to skim the immuno section in both editions just to find changes.
