I am going to be a 2nd year in a few weeks. Quick Question...Should I buy the 2008 First Aid for the USMLE or wait til the 2009 edition comes out?

I have been heavily advised to study out of the First Aid book along with classes so that I can do well on boards.

Thanks for the input guys and gals.

Your best prep for Step I is doing well in your coursework. You can purchase the 2009 edition when it comes out. You will have plenty of time to review that edition and purchase any review books that you need toward the end of your second year. You can't review what you haven't learned in the first place so put your emphasis on your coursework. If you have thoroughly mastered your coursework, your "review" becomes less problematic. Anything that takes away from your study of your coursework becomes a liability rather than an asset. If you are afraid that you are missing something, then scan the library copy of FA but don't waste valuable course study time trying to review for boards. When board review times comes around, you will have plenty of time.
